Screened at Festival Tehláreň
August 20th - 21st 2021
full HD video, 7 minutes

The State Dialogues project documents the methods of repressive psychiatry that were used in the Soviet Union and its effects on current systems of psychiatric care in post-Soviet countries (mainly Slovakia and the Czech Republic). The first partis a semi-documentary video stylized in the format of a TV newspaper, in which the testimonies of collective memory (testimonies of individual survivors, their memoirs) and state memory (in the form of countless administrative documents issued by the state, state media propaganda, etc.) overlap.

Project was financially supported by the Slovak Arts Council.
